JCK Instagram Influencers as Best Statement Piece

The spectacular Al Jahili ring has taken two JCK Jewelers’ Choice Awards in this year’s competition. It was chosen by the JCK Instagram Influencers as Best Statement Piece, and tied for second place in the Best Statement Piece – over $30,000 category.

The ring is inspired by the iconic Al Jahili fort in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, initially constructed to watch over water supplies of the Al Jahili Oasis. It is one of the cornerstone pieces of the Riaz UAE 50 Collection, a celebration honoring the fiftieth anniversary of the United Arab Emirates.

Tariq Riaz says the collection is inspired by the country’s humble beginnings. “I wanted to reflect the beauty in some of the foundational elements of Emirati culture: how communities in this harsh but beautiful environment found and protected the resources needed to survive. I found my inspiration in natural and cultural motifs we find here, and I’ve reinterpreted them as a celebration.

“I’m delighted that the judges have found so much to enjoy in this work, and I’m excited to be bringing it to JCK 2021 in Las Vegas this year.”
